A leading international engineering contractor is seeking an experienced M&E Estimator to join their Dublin-based commercial team. The company delivers high-profile projects across the data centre, life sciences, and industrial sectors throughout Ireland and Europe.
This position focuses on a major pharmaceutical facility in Dublin, providing an opportunity to work within a dynamic pre-construction environment, supporting the full tendering and cost analysis lifecycle on complex MEP systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-construction and commercial phases of a large-scale pharma project, preparing detailed and accurate mechanical and electrical estimates, analysing scope and risk, and supporting bid submissions in line with company and client standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed mechanical and electrical cost estimates for large-scale industrial and pharma projects.
Analyse project specifications, drawings, and tender documentation.
Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
Develop accurate cost breakdowns and bills of quantities (BOQs) for M&E systems.
Support value engineering exercises and alternative design proposals.
Liaise with design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure accurate scope coverage.
Support bid strategy and tender submissions in coordination with senior commercial management.
Assist in developing and maintaining estimating databases and cost libraries.
Attend tender review meetings and provide cost input on design developments.
Track project changes and variations during pre-construction stages.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in M&E estimating, preferably within pharma or industrial projects.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and installation methodologies.
Experience with tendering, cost control, and value engineering.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, ConQuest, or similar).
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Based in or willing to relocate to Dublin; hybrid work options available.
